Halloween Snack: Chicken Sausage Mummies
Looking for a fun Halloween snack idea? These spooky chicken sausage mummies are a quick and easy snack to make for a Halloween party. And with 50% less fat than pork sausage, these are a healthier alternative to the traditional pigs-in-a-blanket. Can't find candy eyes? Just use a straw to punch out circles from any white cheese, and cut olives into little bits for the pupils!
- Place First Fresh Spicy Chicken Sausage Breakfast Links on a baking sheet, then broil for 10 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.
- While chicken sausage is cooking, roll out one can of crescent roll dough. Press seams to seal. Cut dough into long strips.
- Let sausages cool, then wrap each sausage with a couple strips of dough, making sure to leave a gap for the eyes. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Using mustard (or your condiment of choice), affix candy eyes onto each chicken sausage mummy. (Alternatively, you can use a straw to punch out small circles from white cheese, such as white cheddar, swiss or provolone for the eyes, and cut black olives into tiny pieces for the pupils).
